The Online food ordering and delivery startup, Swiggy, is getting ready to enter into the groceries and medicines delivery market with ‘Swiggy Stores’. The aim is to start with medicines and then start with grocery delivery. This strategy is been used to strengthen the Bangalore-based company’s investment and revenue. Swiggy has ventured its way to the hyper-local delivery market and is swiftly grasping into the newer market.

Swiggy Stores has been introduced in Gurgaon market, users can simply order medicines and household products and get it to deliver at their doorstep. The firm went through some experimental operations for a few months. The company has introduced a four-part campaign displaying the customers can place an order of any product. The firm has partnered up with several local and national stores to fulfill customers needs.

The pilot operation started in Gurugram, partnering with 3,500 local ‘Kirana’ stores and medical pharmacies. The result of the experiments would determine future strategies. Swiggy is a unicorn in the Indian startup market and has built a reputation in the market. The sampling solution will give brands full view towards the distribution process and a well-founded proof from the users, which cannot be seen in most sampling solution.

“Being a customer focused firm, our primary target is to always develop our value portion to our customer base. Currently, With more 1.25 lakh delivery partners, in more than 100 cities, we manage a big customer channel. The scale joins with our professionals in real time on-demand logistics holds up a distinctive place to allow brands to connect with our customer,” said by Swiggy’s Spokesperson.

Swiggy’s invade in the hyper-local delivery market has not only provided convenience to its users but it has also created new competition for other brands as well. Even after facing a firm competition from Zomato, Foodpanda, Uber Eats, JustEat; Swiggy introduced a new service ‘Swiggy Stores’ which will be accessible on the same app and will allow users to order things like groceries, medicines, vegetables, Kirana, meat, and other stuff.

What is Swiggy?

Swiggy is India’s sprightliest growing food ordering and delivering business in India. The company was started by, BITS-Pilani alumni Sriharsha Majety and IIT-Kharagpur alumnus Nandan Reddy and Rahul Jaimini in 2014. After quitting his job at Myntra the ambitious entrepreneur Reddy gave India a complete food-ordering and delivery solution and took the market by the storm. Located in Bengaluru,  Swiggy established as a startup in August 2014. Started as a team of six delivery staff and dealing with 25 restaurants, Swiggy is now active in 100 plus cities.

Currently valued at $3.3billion, had earlier this month acquired Kint.io a startup which specializes in applying deep learning and computer vision for object recognition in videos, for an undisclosed amount. Swiggy’s other acquisitions include Supr Daily, Scootsy, 48east.

Bangalore-based company Swiggy is a food delivery giant, it has been on a spree since 2018. By joining Unicorn Club, Billion dollar funding, and new partnerships and products expansions. With its debut in hyperlocal service market of groceries and household goods, Swiggy stores. Now, they are seen putting their hands into the ready-to-cook market as well.
