Bengaluru based online food ordering and delivery startup Swiggy has put incursion into on-demand product delivery from more than 3,500 stores including 200 renowned brands like Licious, MomsCo, Needs Supermarket, Marche, Zappfresh, Guardian Pharmacy, and Apollo. Swiggy has taken this initiative to elaborate its delivery service beyond food. This new service is named as Swiggy stores will be available within Swiggy app and will cover several varieties of products like supermarkets, fruits, vegetables, kiranas, baby care, florists, pet care stores, heal and supplements and meat stores and much more. Swiggy Store will deliver any product among these within an hour.

The astounding news got spread in early 2017 that left folks in dilemma but recent developments have brought the company closer to the target. Previous year Swiggy picked up SuprDaily, a delivery service and company raised $1 Billion in a funding round in December 2018. Naspers led that round and put Swiggy’s valuation to $3.3 Billion. Swiggy is using this amount to take a move in product delivery services.

Swiggy will use its existing 1.5 Lakh customers and will maintain more efficient delivery to give high competition to existing settled players in product delivery including Big Basket, Grofers and Amazon Now.

According to the blog post of Sriharsha Majety, Swiggy co-founder and CEO, “We thought we could make the food delivery like extreme convenience to a lot of other local commerce needs. Just like how we segregated wisely seamless delivery across over half a lakh restaurants in the country, we can democratize ease across millions of other merchants in our cities.” Swiggy stores are ready to bring revolution in product delivery services. Its revenue output is awaiting news for all.
