Located in Bangalore, Swiggy established as a startup in 2014. Started as a team of six delivery personnel and dealing with 25 restaurants, Swiggy is now available in more than 100 plus. At present, the company values more than $3.3billion and has made some acquisitions this year such as Kint.io, a startup which practices in using deep learning and computer vision for object identification in videos, for an undisclosed price. Swiggy’s other acquisitions are Supr Daily, Scootsy, 48east. Bangalore-based firm Swiggy is a food delivery leader, in the Indian food sector. After becoming the part of Unicorn Club, Billion dollar funding, and new partnerships and products extensions. With its new launch in hyperlocal service market of groceries and household goods, Swiggy stores. Now, they are witnessed putting trying hands into the ready-to-cook market as well.
Swiggy’s invade in the hyper-local delivery market has not only provided convenience to its users but it has also created new competition for other brands as well. Even after having a strong competition from Zomato, Foodpanda, Uber Eats, JustEat; Swiggy also launched a new service 'Swiggy Stores' and it will be available on the same app and will enable users to order things like groceries, medications, vegetables, Kirana, food, and other stuff.
The Internet and Technology have helped the food delivery companies have dominated the market. Swiggy is considered to be a unicorn in the Indian startup market and has built a reputation in the market. The firm has put up its name among the top e-commerce giants such as Flipkart and Walmart.
